Rare dose of crystal green fields and 5000 seats
Minute after minute, hour after hour, we were witnessing true diligence of the Australian hosts, while literally building the whole place for the WMF World Cup 2019.
Instagram was booming through the @ausminifootball_ - the official profile of Australian Minifootball Federation.
We’ve seen and heard many stories. We’ve been kept informed throughout the whole process and big congrats!
At Langley Park in Perth, 32 countries will show their craft at the half-field version of soccer starting October the 1st.
Hosts, working tirelessly these days, constructed 5000 seat stadium, for which Australian Minifootball Federation had a vision aligned with the local feasibility assessment; they had huge will; and strong muscles, and then as well the support by the Federal Liberal Government that invested 300.000 dollars into the venue that hosts the WMF World Cup 2019. This proves the recognition of minifootball for the societal and economic benefits it brings.
In one of the interviews, Australian Minifootball vice president Bryan Raeburn said that “six-versus-six format made for a more condensed, entertaining version of the world game.”
“It’s like a Big Bash of football, with more goals, it’s quicker, more interchanges and high tempo excitement. It’ll be good for people and the youth to see what it takes to be a high-level player at a World Cup,” he said.
On the official web presentation of the Australian Minifootball Federation, there’s this: “Sport is a shared Aussie passion and the heartbeat of our communities, so it will be great to have coaches, volunteers, team members, and fans coming together here in Perth for the Minifootball World Cup.”
Additionally, referring to the sole competition and that there is also world champion the Czech Republic going to play, Mr. Miguel Maron said: “They are the team to beat.”
So, beware over there!
