Pitches and service – infrastructure and solidarity 4 life
Having the infrastructure as one of the priorities in the development of grassroots sports, after the contract for new pitches and construction in the Middle East and Africa signed in spring 2019, expansion of the initiative happens right now in Kenya.
As previously the President of WMF Mr. Filip Juda emphasized, WMF would “work together on a business model to build minifootball pitches in the countries that are already members of the WMF to increase their membership and increase the comfort of players and their fans”.
Kenya will construct 47 minifootball pitches in the upcoming 5 years.
President of the World Minifootball Federation in Nairobi talked to Yussuf Dahir, Kenya Minifootball President, General Director of the National Bank of Kenya, Mohamed Abdirahman Hassan. The project documentation was completed for all 47 courses and was officially handed over to the President of the Minifootball Association in Kenya. The construction will be completed within 5 years of the completion of all certificates required for construction.
Along with this, goes the work that has direct social benefits locally: As WMF SOLIDARITY program entails – from players and fans of minifootball and their friends, we collect unneeded football shoes through our local and national minifootball federations, which we then distribute to the developing countries that are our members.
Lead by the vision of this donor programme, it was also agreed to extend the CSR of the World Minifootball Federation to the “Shoes 4 Life” project, where unnecessary football shoes from minifootball players from developed countries will be donated to children from one of Africa's largest slums "Kibera", where live more than 1 million of the poorest people of Kenya on 3 km2.
We will build more, donate more and share the mission to make minifootball better “tool” for social improvements and development across Africa.
This team would like to play against a team from Africa or Europe and to see their country or region on a high-ranking position at the end of the WMF World Cup.Read More →
