New update on the 1st WMF online referee seminar
Leading the seminars tirelessly, Mr. Nemanja Ljumovic, Chairman of the Referee Committee of WMF, shares his experiences with the progress:
„After a few days of education, demonstration of situations on the pitch and having exams, we are happy to say that we are extremely pleased with the number of referees who took part in this online seminar as well as with the good feedback from referees and national federations after we finished it.
In the first place, we showed that even in these hard times for referees and minifootball in general, we can manage to assure that we are making progress and that we will be ready when competitions start.
The number of referees joining minifootball is growing every day, and with our experience and their will, knowledge, enthusiasm, and hard work we can be sure we will have the best of the best at the incoming competitions. After positive feedback from referees and a good voice in the world of minifootball, some countries which were unable to take part in the seminar because of the situation with COVID-19, expressed a desire that we continue with the online seminar further.
So, we are proud to tell that we had more than 90 referees from Europe and almost 70 from Africa. To catch up with the momentum, as the overwhelming achievement we point out the success we estimate to be very high with 40 referees from Asia that were attending the 1st WMF Online Referee Seminar, going through it and finishing it flawlessly. A successful conclusion of the seminar with Asian referees invigorated us to carry on with our endeavors.
What is important to emphasize is that among participants we had more than 20 female referees, which shows directly the improvement of increased presence and agentic approach of females in minifootbal, so we expect to have a significant number of them during WMF’s Women’s World Cup.
The next Seminar is scheduled for 14-15 of April 2021 when we will be working with PAMF referees and we are hopeful that we will have a good response from them.
Stay in focus, because we are sure that very soon we will have new info from WMF referee committee regarding the education of referees.“
Making a small break, but getting back very soon, so stay tuned.
