In India, it is now cool to go to school
Minifootball never sleeps.
This time the aim to develop and nurture grassroots sports and embed it into the educational systems where possible – happened in India.
WMF Vice-president, Mr. Vitthal Shirgaonkar, as directly engaged in this initiative, gladly informs that MINIFOOTBALL is going to be included in SCHOOL SPORTS PROGRAM in India from next year onward.
The same orientation has been scheduled by the School Game Federation of India (SGFI) from 12th to 14th of November 2019 in Hyderabad. This orientation program will consist of an introduction if Minifootball and its rules to the sports teacher/coaches coming from all over India. SGFI is a member of the International School Federation (ISF) who controls all School Games in India.
All this is of enormous importance, as Minifootball will be part of every school of India and All Schools of India will compete under the official banner of MAI & WMF. This entire school sports program is conducted under the Government of India.
Reminding us on our initial goals, Mr. Shiraonkar said: “As I stated after our EC Election, my focus is to develop and monitor all at the grassroots level. This is a very crucial step towards the achievement of our goals. I also want to request all other members to approach their respective nation’s ISF Member to include the Minifootball in their School Sports Program which will help us to develop Minifootball at the grassroots level in every country.
For any further help, I will be glad to guide anyone for the same.
I am thankful to all EC Members and the entire WMF family for supporting me to develop minifootball in India as well as in World.”
We are also thankful for this as a good practice example, good work to look up to, and as proof that Minifootball is being recognized in more and more communities and on national levels.
