Summary of the second day of the World Championship: We know all the eight quarter-finalists
Prague - The basic groups of the World Minifootball Cup for Under 21 players will not end until Saturday morning, but eight of the quarter-finalists already emerged from the first two days in Prague's sports hall Jedenáctka.
Group B was completely conquered by the Czech national team. On Friday morning, they overcame Colombia 5:0 and then in the last duel the Czech youngsters defeated Switzerland 9:0. The Czech team dominated the basic group with an impressive score of 21:1. "Our squad has a huge force, we are one team, we help each other and there´s a lot of teamwork," said Czech captain Lukáš Haspra.
On Saturday, at 6:10 p.m., the Czech national team of Under-21 players will meet with Hungary in the quarter-finals of the World Minifootbal Championship. Hungarians have managed a playoff berth with Tunisia when Norbert Monori scored a winning goal four minutes before the end of the match.
Colombia ended as second in Group B, when they beat Japan 2:0 in the last match. The South American team will play against Russia – the winner of group A - in the opening quarterfinals. The first match of four quarter-finals will start on Saturday at 4:50 p.m.
In Group C the teams of Slovakia and Italy have already secured the advancing from the group. They will fight on Saturday morning for the victory and advancing from the first place. On Friday, Slovaks destroyed Austrians 11:1 and Italians defeated Slovenians 2:1 after a fierce fight.
The triumph in the basic group D won´t be also decided until Saturday. The United Kingdom and Senegal have both achieved two victories so far. On Friday the British beat Guatemala 6:1 and Senegal crushed India 9: 0.
