Czech team has dominated the World Minifootball Cup of Under-21 players
Prague - The title of world champions in minifootball stays in the Czech Republic. The national team of U-21 players defeated Slovakia 2:1 in the final in Prague sports hall Jedenáctka.
The Czech lions thus followed the senior national team that dominated the world championship a year ago in Tunisia. "It´s the best thing in our lives, it cannot be compared to anything else. It´s a beautiful experience, we all witness something incredible. We all wanted the gold and it’s here. We did a lot of work during this week, and that´s why we have the gold medals, " rejoiced the Czech forward Adam Širůček.
The Czech team managed to go through the tournament without hesitation and in the final game, it was sent to the lead by the best striker of the team Daniel Kasal. In the 13th minute of the first half, he scored after a perfect corner kick. Next Czech goal was a beautiful strike right past the post and it was scored in the 26th minute by midfielder Dominik Fejl from Pardubice.
The Slovaks only reduced the Czech lead in the 32nd minute after Tomáš Mikluš scored a goal. The Czechs, however, did not allow them to score more goals. "We had enough chances to secure the lead 2:0, but after the garbage Slovak goal, we didn´t concentrate. We went belly up and we were only defending. It´s a shame we didn´t manage to keep the lead, but on the other hand, I understand it. It was the final game, we were leading and we wanted to stay ahead, "said Czech coach Zdeněk Parůžek.
Bronze medals were won by Colombia, who played against Italy in a match for the third place, where the South Americans won easily 6:0. In the semi-final, Slovakia beat Colombia 3:0 and the Czech Republic won over Italy 2:1.
Lorenzo Felipe Orellano Vallejo from Colombia was awarded a prize the best player of the tournament, while the Czech goalie Václav Šlégr became the best goalkeeper. Henry Limpitshi Bongwanga from Great Britain received the best striker prize for his 12 goals.
