The President of the World Minifootball Federation Filip Juda and the President of the International Student Football Union and the Deputy Minister of Justice of Russian Federation Ali Alkhanov have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which implies development and promotion of student football, minifootball, university leagues and tournaments.
The two parties have the intention to work on the mutual organization of several important events in the future, such as ISFU soccer championships, WMF WORLD CUP U23 2020 in Red Square, with the aim of promoting the international student football league.
At the meeting, it was noted the importance and growth of the popularity of minifootball, with the agreement that serious attention should be paid to the development of women's football.
It is expected that this interaction between the ISFU and the WMF would lead to the progress of university football and minifootball at the world level. Two organizations also plan to create the International Student Football League in order to unite the best university football teams from around the world and to allow students to compete throughout the whole academic year. This would be the huge step for the development of football in all its forms.
Mr. Filip Juda, the President of the WMF, after the signing of the memorandum, said:
“I see this collaboration as an ideal symbiosis, where both parties focus on student sports and organize similar sport. I appreciate the idea and work of the International Students Football Union and I am happy we have an opportunity to be part of this community to develop together the university sport and make a progressive development of minifootball in universities and in general U23 age category. I am also expecting such event will be great promotion of minifootball in Russia and will help to our member LFL to increase number of players in their leagues.”
The President of the International Student Football Union, Ali Alkhanov pointed out that ISFU support and welcome the goals and objectives set by the World Minifootball Federation, and added:
“They are based primarily on the popularization of football and the creation of conditions for football for boys and girls, as well as students. I really want our meeting to lay a very serious foundation for our joint efforts to interact and develop football”, he concluded.
The official meeting was held on Wednesday, July 4, in the office of the National Student Football League in Moscow. Besides the Mr. Filip Juda, and Mr. Ali Alkhanov, the event was also attended by the Head of the Department of Holding Competitions of the Russian Football Union, Vladimir Oleksin, Deputy Head of Department of Youth and Mass Football of the RFU Mikhail Efimov, Vice-president of the ISFU, director of security of the Russian Football Premier League Alexander Martin, President of the NSFL, the General Director of the ISFU Andrey Stukalov, the WMF representative Afgan Hamzayev, the General Director of the NSFL Alexey Moiseev and the Executive Director of the NSFL Oksana Smagliy.
